Why Crazy Green?
When I was pondering a name for my studio, I kept getting advice to make it something I love and can live with every day. At the time, my very favorite glaze was one called 'crazy green' - a delightful copper glaze that does so many wonderful things on different clays and in different firings. It also resonated with me because of my quest to find the best way to have a working studio that is as environmentally friendly as possible. Little did I know at the time how very vogue it would become to be 'green', so it makes me very happy to be Crazy Green!
At present, Crazy Green Studios is the home of
Pottery by Lori Theriault as well as a 'virtual' community that
includes potters, fiber artists, musicians and photographers.
Our geography is spread wide, but our focus and intent for encouraging
curiousity, inspiring creativity, sharing ideas and collaboration
keeps us connected in a familiar circle. Learn more about our members
in the studios link.
My own studio is currently located at the Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts in Asheville, NC, and the hunt for a permanent home in western North Carolina has begun.
