TilesMany of my tile designs are unglazed, using iron washes, slips and/or the content of the clay to bring visual and tactile texture to the tile. While these tiles are often used for fireplaces or accents, they can be used in any area where you want a natural, earthy look. The tiles can be cut to fit design specifications, but they are individually made with the intent of appearing hand made. Edges are softened and designs are imprinted, carved, drawn or hammered into each tile, so while a pattern may repeat, no two tiles will be exactly alike.Many of these same designs may easily incorporate one of several tinted translucent glazes. Samples and tests on designs are available with any order. Larger, carved relief tiles may be made into a plaster mold, if you prefer to have an exact design repeated within your design.
