About our summer 2010 workshops:

Workshops at Crazy Green Studios are intimate affairs really made just for you! Hands on wheel workshops are limited to four participants, and hand building workshops range from 6-8 participants. The workshops are focused on specific techniques, so the emphasis is on how, not how much. In this relaxed and intimate atmosphere, the group discussion will go deeper, and the instructor will have more flexibility to tailor the workshop to the unique needs and challenges of the participants involved.

Made for you means just that - workshops may be customized for one person or a group of four for the wheel. If you're interested in exploring the cylinder form, or working with slips and surface decorations, we can do that. Because we put this together based on what you want to do, the week (three day workshops also available) is intense yet intimate, and a lot of ground is covered in a relatively short time.

But the workshop isn't limited to time in the studio. Based on the theme of your workshop, field trips will be planned to visit other ceramic artists, in studio and/or in area galleries. When possible, both bisque and glaze firings will be included, time permitting. Of course shipping is available if a final firing takes place on the last day.

What's included in the fee:

- all materials and firings
: This really does mean all materials! We'll provide the clay and tools, and we'll build a syllabus around your workshop so you may choose to bring your favorite tools if you like (but unless specified, it's not necessary!). As mentioned above, if firings are designed into the workshop, all glazing and firing is also included. If shipping of finished pieces is necessary, that cost will be assessed and charged separately.

- lunch!: Crazy Green Studios is proud to partner with other local small businesses to provide workshop participants a delicious lunch every day. We will take a lunch break each day to one of our local fine eateries, all close enough to either dine in or bring back to the studio.

- guided studio tours: One afternoon will be dedicated to touring studios of local artists. As much as possible, this will be organized to highlight artists who have work that compliments the workshop focus. In addition, participants will be able to see multiple examples of working studios, which might just inspire their own studio aspiration!

*optional extras: Lori will lead workshop participants in guided critiques during the course of the workshop, but based on the theme of the workshop, a guest artist may be brought in for critiques as well. In addition, based on the theme and time of your workshop, we will put together a guide of gallery exhibits and/or other special events that will compliment your workshop experience.

Schedule:
These truly are custom workshops, and will be scheduled at the mutual convenience of Crazy Green Studios and workshop participants, between May 1 and August 31, 2010. Duration of the workshop may be by request or may be determined by the scope of the workshop goals.

Fees:
As unique as each workshop will be, so shall the fees. Based on what your workshop wants to be, fees will range from $350 - $600 per person.

Registration:
A non-refundable deposit of $75 will hold your place in a workshop, and this amount is deducted from the balance of the workshop fee. The balance is due no later than one month prior to your workshop start.

Cancellation:
Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the workshop start date are non-refundable. All other cancellations are refunded less the $75 registration fee and a $100 cancellation fee. If the workshop is canceled by Crazy Green Studios, all fees will be refunded.

To apply for your custom workshop: If you'd like to talk more about what possibilities await you for your own workshop experience, contact the studio to discuss themes and dates.
